Phil & Teds Sport
Buggy Blue Camo

|
The
Good |
We
like the cool concept
of the add-on back seat that lets the stroller convert from a
single to a double. When used as a double stroller, it is narrow
and
easily zips between store aisles.
|
The
Bad
|
With
the back-seat on, your
under-seat storage disappears. The back seat costs extra. When
used as a double, you get all the problems of an inline: poor
visibility for the rear passenger. This stroller works best
for walking and will not stand up to even light jogging. It is
also comparatively expensive. |

BOB Revolution

|
The
Good |
We
think the
Bob Revolution stroller is the best multi-purpose stroller out
there. The
front swivel works great in the mall and actually has a tracking
adjustment for running, and the fat tires are great off road.
Also, it holds big kids well - roomy inside and still tracks well
with heavier children. The swivel is also very easy to lock out. |
The
Bad
|
No
locking mechanism when
folded. |

BOB Ironman

|
The
Good |
The
Ironman stroller works well
if you
are a serious runner but not a running fanatic. The frame is
light, and the canopy has good coverage. Tracking adjustment
allows you to correct front wheel wobble very easily. And it
folds very, very well - which is not a feature you usually get on
a true jogging stroller. |
The
Bad
|
No
cup holder is included. The
after-market cup-holder is
fabric and will not accomodate coffe-cups that stand upright. |

Rating

serious runner.

CHARIOT CARRIER CX1

|
The
Good |
Well
designed,
well built
product. We especially love the hiking kit which is a great
workout. It has a roll-cage which is the ultimate stroller safety
feature and the suspension gives a super smooth ride. Fleece
lining in cabin area is really, really comfy. You can
really load stuff into the the back-trunk style
storage area. It's sleek, good looking, and has a high
resale value. |
The
Bad
|
Could
use a front
fender given
that the cabin is low off the ground. It's pricey ! (but look
at all the options you get!) |

BABY JOGGER Performance
Single 20"

|
The
Good: |
This
is a marathoner quality
jogging stroller designed for the ultra-serious
runner. The one-piece frame is very stable and delivers a
remarkably smooth ride. We like that it tracks straight and true
even when loaded up to it's maximum 100lb capacity.
|
The
Bad
|
It
does not fold down to a small
package, and the folding
mechanism is not straightforward to use. (To be fair, easy folding is
not a priority for runners using this as a dedicated jogger). |

MOUNTAIN BUGGY Urban Single

|
The
Good |
The
stroller frame is sturdy and
gives a
smooth ride over gravel,
cracked side-walks. The cabin is roomy with good head clearance,
and you can carry lots of cargo (100 lbs). It's from New Zealand
so it's pretty trendy (if you go for that sort of thing.) |
The
Bad
|
This
is a fairly heavy stroller
that doesn't
fold to a small package. It has no hand-brake, and the canopy
coverage is really not that good. (A sunshade add-on for
proper coverage can be purchased separately
(grrrrr!)
And it's not that cheap either.

The
Good |
Best
one-step

on a stroller - period!
Canopy has new no-pinch mechanism that is easy on the fingers. |
The
Bad
|
Once
again, we
hate there's no
cup holder. Even though it's pretty easy to assemble,
instructions are downright lousy.

KELTY Speedster Deluxe

|
The
Good |
We
think the Kelty stroller
offers very good
value for dollar. It's not one of the elite brands, but for the
price - it's well built and performs adequately. Two things we
love are the front fender which protects little hands and feet and the
absence of a brake bar at the rear axle allows
for a longer running stride. It folds down quite small and has a
locking mechanism to keep folded. It comes with a cup-holder (wow!) and
a bell for clearing the sidewalk!
|
The
Bad
|
This
may be a cheap shot, but it
doesn't have the flashy good
looks as say a BOB product |

Tike
Tech ATX All Terrain Stroller and Deluxe Cover - Red

|
The
Good |
Rugged
mountain-bike type design
with knobby tires that
perform well off-road. We like that the handlebar is fairly tall and
suits tall
parents well. Also the seat sits higher up off the ground than most and
there is a safety bar for kids to hold. (By the way: kids go nuts
about the child grab bar - they love it!) The harness is
adjustable to
5pt and 3pt settings. The 3pt setting gives your toddlers more
freedom of movement - this is a pretty cool (and rare) feature.
|
The
Bad
|
The
seat back height is a little
short. Some of our 'long'
test-kids had a problem with their heads hitting the canopy. |

Rating

BUGABOO Cameleon

|
The
Good |
The
removable bassinet
carrier and multiple seat configurations are fairly unique.
The reversible handlebar, seat and wheel settings are both clever and
useful if you want to face baby when you are walking.
The adjustable suspension is also
practical when switching surfaces and it is car-seat compatible with a
variety of competitor stroller brands.
And oh yes, there is no denying it's
practical, clean, European styling - it's a good looking piece of
hardware. |
The
Bad
|
The
price! (Ouch!) The
seat must be removed before folding, and it's 40lb carrying capacity is
far too low (though we tried it with a bit more weight and it seemed
ok). It is pretty wide, and doesn't fit through some doorways - and you
guessed it - no cup holder included (grrrrrr!)
