The Phil and Ted Stroller is a popular inline double stroller made in New Zealand. They recently added two new models: the Vibe, and the Dash.

In 2006, the Phil and Ted stroller was upgraded from the e3 Explorer model to the Sport model.  In 2007, two new strollers were produced: "The Vibe", and "The Dash".

These new Phil and Ted stroller models boast sleek new styling plus additional pouches for your cellphone and iPod as well as new fold technology.  The Phil and Ted stroller is also produced in a side by side version called the e3 Twin.  Overall, we believe that the Phil and Ted stroller is a great choice for those not interested in serious running.

When thinking about the Phil and Ted stroller or any double jogging stroller, pay special attention to two issues: Seating layout and maneuverability

SEATING LAYOUT: Seating is available in two formats: Inline and Side-by-side. Virtually all of the leading brands are side-by-side, and the Phil and Ted stroller seems to be a popular inline.

SIDE-by-SIDE: In this format, children sit beside one another. Both children have un-obstructed views, and both seats can recline to an equal degree. In addition, there will be no fighting about who gets the front seat. Also, the children can interact with each other (and even hold hands - like our girls did they when they were younger). The downside to this format is the width. Very often, side-by-sides cannot fit through doorways and narrow store aisles.

INLINE: As the name suggests, children sit "in-line" or one behind the other.  The Phil and Ted stroller is an example of an inline model.  There are various other categories of inline: stadium, limousine, sit'n stand, however, tandem is the more popular. In this category, both children face away from the parent. With inlines, children in the rear seat usually feel short-changed. Unless the rear seat is elevated (i.e. stadium seating), they can't see as much, and they don't seem to like it. Inlines also tend to be harder to steer than side-by-sides.

MANEUVERABILITY: Whether side-by-side or inline, the thing about doubles is that they are bulky, heavy, and can be difficult to steer when fully loaded. So, make sure to investigate the the weight of the frame when considering a purchase.
