In addition to your child, jogging stroller storage allows you to carry all sorts of things around with you: Your stuff (hand-bag, coffee, keys, cell phone, groceries) and baby's stuff (diaper bag, toys, bottle).

Whatever you carry, storage should be convenient, and adequate. There are three main storage areas: Under-seat basket, behind the seat pouches, and side compartments.

Under-seat Basket

This serves as the main cargo area for jogging stroller storage.  Look for baskets that are large and deep!
You will find that with many strollers, it is tough to actually fit a fully stuffed diaper bag in this basket (which needless to say is annoying).  We hate to single out particular brands but....... Mountain Buggy is one of the main offenders when it comes to this.

Behind-the-Seat Pouches

These are convenient in that they allow you to retrieve things without reaching down and under the stroller. Look for pouches with mesh walls that make it easy to see what's inside or allow wet towels to dry out. Some pouches have extra pockets to store cell-phone, car-keys etc..
 

Zippered Compartments

Zippered compartments are usually located on the sides and are great for miscellaneous storage. However, in some strollers (e.g. Chariot) they can also be found inside the cabin area. This is a wonderful feature because your older ones can store and retrieve snacks and toys at their convenience - without interrupting your run!
 

Heads-Up Tips

Make sure to pay close attention to weight limits. Limits determine the maximum load you can carry in your stroller. Manufacturers will supply this number and it is wise to stay with those limits.

A word of caution: you cannot make up for insufficient jogging stroller storage by hanging things on the handlebars. This is a no-no! It will make the jogging stroller top heavy and tippy, and may risk injury to your child.
