A true jogger stroller is a rugged three-wheeler specially designed for regular running and bumpy off-road conditions.

They are very different from, and are not to be confused with traditional baby strollers or the flimsy umbrella ones.  A true jogging stroller is required equipment for running or active walking with baby on of any kind of rough or bumpy trails.

A typical jogger stroller has a welded metal frame and high performance wheels. The rear wheels are connected directly to an axle while the front wheel is usually fixed, providing straight tracking when in motion. (Many of the higher quality strollers with a swivel up front can be used for moderate jogging when the swivel lock is engaged.

A sling style seat carries the child in a semi-reclined position. Many come with a large canopy (sunshade) and handlebar mounted brakes.

They are available in single, double, and triple, child formats. Multiple child versions are available in various configurations: inline, side-by-side etc… 

Of course people now refer to any 3-wheeler as a jogging stroller – but this is simply not true! Many of the 3-wheelers are fine for brisk or active walking but are completely unsuitable for running of any kind. You must be clear on your needs, circumstances and how you intend to use it before you purchase.
